TUITE
(OKINAWAN "JU-JITSU")
The
following are concepts of combat that are applicable to all JU-JITSU
or JU-JITSU like arts (i.e. TUITE).
The
five ranges of combat:
-
Projectiles,
both manufactured and adapted.
-
Weapons,
both two hand and one hand weapons.
-
Legs,
for kicking.
-
Arms.
for grappling.
-
Grappling,
in close to lock, throw or strangle.
The
four methods of combat:
-
ATEMI
WAZA - Striking Techniques-to Include hand, foot, elbow, knee
and head butt strikes.
Most often to vulnerable parts of the body.

NAGE
WAZA - Throwing Techniques utilizing Alki like or Judo (Body
Contact) like throws
to project the opponent to the ground or in to an object.

KANSETSU'
WAZA - Joint Locking Techniques.
Placing unnatural stress on a joint.

SHIME
WAZA - Techniques of Constriction.
Most common examples are strangulation
holds, but also Includes seizing/pressing nerves.
The
four modes of contact (Standing)
-
Front
with No Contact (Example: Opponent punches and defender fades
to
outside.)
-
Front
with Single Contact (Example: Lapel Grab)
-
Front
with Dual Contact (Example:
Double Lapel Grab)
-
Rear
with Retention/Grab (Single or Dual. to include Choke) Above/Over
the Arms.

Rear
with Retention/Grab (Single or Dual) Below/Under the Arms.
